Club Doncaster provide free sports, activity and learning sessions for young people aged 8-18 years across Doncaster which are inclusive for all. We use the power of football to give young people the opportunity to pursue their interest in playing, leading and coaching in football. We also offer young people the opportunity to attend our six week Coaching Academy, the course is deigned to develop young people as a coach and as person with regard to moving on in life and into employment.
The course covers a variety of topics over the six weeks and is heavily loaded with practical delivery. Upon completion of the Coaching Academy young people have the opportunity to continue their development by volunteering on one of our football programmes with constant support and guidance from our full-time coaches. Young people who attend on a regular basis and have a good attitude are given rewards, these include regular tickets for Doncaster Rovers first team games and equipment prizes to keep them playing. Young people are also given the opportunity to play against other teams from professional clubs such as Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley FC and Rotherham United.
Alongside our free football sessions young people have opportunities to learn new skills and gain qualifications in a supportive and positive environment. This can also lead onto our volunteering programme where young people can gain valuable work experience which could lead into employment or further education. Six of our full time team started their journeys from our successful Kicks programme.
